Corona was a shock. As many of us I wanted to go out. As a photographer I could. I organised portrait sessions of families in Brussels. For these families it was a nice warm exciting event to remember these strange times. For me it was a challenge to shoot these families being lonely, happy, unhappy, together or desperate. A way to cope with the Corona crisis.
Now, many month later, these portraits have a new layer in them. In spring we thought this was a one time event. One lockdown and then it's over.
Even in these staged portraits we can see a sort of innocence.
Now, half a year later, the situation in Brussels is really bad. Brussels is the second worst city in Europe looking at Covid-19 infected patients.
