Curious about my world, I began photography as a teen with my mom’s black-and-white film camera.
Now, I photograph portraits, stories, and news for global clients in Belgium and beyond and I share my photography experience with aspiring photographers.

As.a photojournalist in Brussels I love shooting visual stories and reportages.
A reportage captures both the atmosphere and details quickly—a pro photojournalist’s job, from press conferences to NGO events.
For example this reportage I shot for Le Monde on cool places in Brussels.
Visual stories are detailed photo sequences or documentaries, either self-initiated like the “flower” story on Brussels terror attacks or created with journalists under editors from media like Financial Times, Le Monde, or The Guardian.
My work can be found through photo agencies like Getty and the Belgian co-operative democratic photo agency IDphotoagency.

My portraits are often made on location in Belgium an around, or I shoot portraits sessions at my photo studio in Schaerbeek (Brussels). ( or a rental studio when necessary)

After 20 years shooting professionally, I (re)discovered my passion for teaching.
I offer photography workshops—portrait, street, flash, photojournalism—that can also be booked as teambuilding or private courses.
Lessons are open to all levels, teaching digital and analog photography at Elsene's cultural center and at our collective darkroom Co’Lab.

Alongside my photography, I lead a vibrant second life!
I balance my time between photography and family, while immersing myself in art.
I visit exhibitions and create in my analog lab, Co’Lab, crafting chemigrams and rayograms, solo, or with students.
After studying graphic arts, I also work on my etching press at our shared printing studio Neue Grizzley, mixing photography, painting, etching, and sculpture.
My creations are displayed in galleries and group exhibitions, sharing my artistic vision with others.

After years as a sailing teacher and camera store employee, Sander returned to school to pursue photography.
Trained as an artist and corporate photographer at The Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague (until 1995), he then worked in various Dutch photo studios for years.
