Discover Sander de Wilde; Photographer & coach in Brussels

Sander de Wilde is a Brussels-based editorial/portrait photographer working for media, institutions and brands across Europe for over 20 years. He also shares his love for photography through lessons and workshops.

Educated at the Royal Academy of Arts in the Netherlands he worked in photography studios for 7 years before starting his own studio in Rotterdam in 2002.

In 2007 he moved to Brussels where he broadened his workfield to international newspapers, magazines and corporate clients.

His work combines a documentary sensibility with a cinematic visual approach, focusing on authentic human presence, atmosphere and visual storytelling.

His editorial focused portraits and stories appeared in international newspapers, magazines and institutional publications, with assignments ranging from editorial portraiture to political and cultural reportage for media like New York Times, National Geographic, Die Zeit, and others.

Known for a calm and intuitive approach, he creates portraits that feel natural, direct and emotionally grounded in any environment and situation. Mastering light and time through photography shoots is way of showing his love for this world.

Heavily influenced by photographers like Man Ray, Elliot Erwitt and Roger Ballen or Dutch examples like Anton Corbijn, Erwin Olaf and Ed van der Elsken Sander found his own visual language in the photographic landscape.

De Wilde also organises photography classes in Brussels.
