Learn photography from a working Editorial Photographer

As a working editorial photographer, I specialize in portrait photography and reportages. Alongside my freelance work as a full‑time photographer, I am a member of an analog photography collective, with a large darkroom to develop and print our black and white photos. We help others develop their creative vision.

About my Hands-On Photography lessons

photographer and teacher in Brussel Sander next to a screen with a portrait of a man while doing a photography workshop

My photography classes are meant to be fun and have a steep learning curve. This is how I would like a photography class to be myself.

I believe in learning by doing, so expect these courses to be hands-on photography workshops every lesson again !

In every photography course the basics of photography comes back, tailored for your level. If you are a beginner or an experienced photographer, my workshops will always inspire you to reach new levels in your photography practice.

The classes in Brussels start mostly at GC Elzenhof in Ixelles and the lingua Franca is mostly English.

I work with Superprof, Wecandoo, Avansa, and Sasasa photo schools to teach photo lessons in French and Dutch.

I offer both private 2-hour sessions, half-day workshops, and longer courses lasting several months.

What makes these photo courses truly stand out from the rest?

Sander’s brains weren’t made for traditional schooling.

That’s why he blends creativity and technique in dynamic photography classes, without long and boring theoretic sessions. He mostly starts with 30 minutes theory, a practical exercise, feedback, more thoughts, and another exercise? So take your camera to every lesson. You’ll need it!

His playful style encourages experimentation and personal expression. With a background in authentic portraits and visual stories, Sander offers practical insights beyond the basics with fun exercises..

He promotes hands-on learning through engaging workshops that challenge aspiring photographers to think even more creatively. Focusing on storytelling and experimenting, he guides students towards better visuals. This dynamic approach inspires a lasting love for photography.

The atmosphere during all his lessons is relaxed and dynamic at the same time. You’ll never feel like going to school, you’ll feel like really learning something new in a fun way. Between the lessons your mind will work with the new inspiration, challenging your own borders.

Sander speaks several languages so whatever language you speak, you’ll be able to follow!
